Ceramic coating · Warren, MI

Water beads.
Dirt lets go.

A ceramic coating is a hard, slick layer over your paint that sheds water and makes every wash easier. Tell us about your vehicle and get a free quote.

What you get

What a coating does.

  • Makes water bead and run off

Rain and rinse water leave the panel instead of sitting on it.

  • Makes washing easier

Salt, dirt and road film have less to cling to, so they come off with less work.

  • Adds gloss and depth

Over corrected paint, a coating gives a wet, glassy look.

  • Puts a layer over your clear coat

The weather meets the coating first, and the paint second.

  • Starts with the paint done right

Swirls and haze are polished out first, because a coating keeps whatever finish is under it.

  • A free quote first

Tell us the vehicle and the shape the paint is in, and we will price it before you book.

Why One Stop Customs

Straight answers about coatings.

A coating is real protection, and it is also oversold. Here is the plain version of what it will not do.

Rock chips and dents
It will not stop them. It is a thin layer, not armor. Paint protection film is the answer for chips.
Scratches
Careless washing will still mark a coated car.
Washing
The car still gets dirty. It just cleans up faster.
Swirls
A coating does not hide them. The fix for swirls is paint correction.

This was a wonderful experience. He was very professional and let me know every detail through the process. I would recommend him to friend if they were looking to get some work done.

See it work

Watch what water does.

On bare paint, water spreads out and sits. On coated paint it pulls into tight beads and rolls away.

Pick the surface, then drag across the panel to spray it

On a coated panel, water pulls into tight beads. Once a bead is heavy enough it rolls away and takes the ones in its path with it.

The order

The coating is the last step.

Most of the work in a coating is what happens before it. The paint is washed, cleaned and corrected, and only then protected.

  1. Wash and decontaminate

A hand wash, then bonded dirt and road film come off the paint, so the surface is truly clean.

  2. Correct the paint

Swirls and haze are polished out first. A coating seals in whatever is under it.

  3. Apply the coating

The coating goes on panel by panel, and is leveled and wiped down by hand.

  4. Let it cure

The coating needs time to harden once it is on.

Questions

Good to know.

Not seeing yours? Call or text (248) 259-1617 and ask.

  • What is a ceramic coating?

A liquid that is wiped onto clean paint and cures into a thin, hard, very slick layer on top of the clear coat. Wax sits on the surface and washes away. A coating bonds to it.

  • Does my car need paint correction first?

Usually some. A coating sits on top of whatever is there, so swirls and haze are polished out before it goes on. A new or well kept car may need very little. Paint correction is checked and covered in the same free quote.

  • How long does a ceramic coating last?

It depends on the coating and on how the car is washed and stored. Ask when you get your free quote.

  • Ceramic coating or paint protection film?

They do different jobs. Film is a thick layer that takes rock chips and scratches. A coating is a thin, slick layer that sheds water and makes washing easier. The two can be used together, and we will help you pick.

  • How do I wash a coated car?

By hand, with a gentle soap and a clean mitt. It takes less effort than before, because dirt has less to hold on to. Brush tunnels put swirls into any paint, coated or not.

  • How much does a ceramic coating cost?

Every job is priced for the vehicle and the coverage you want. Tell us about your vehicle and we will get back to you fast with a free quote.
